Getting to School
Getting to Darell Primary and Nursery School
At Darell we promote active, safe and sustainable travel to and from our school for everyone.
We invest in road safety training for our pupils. In Year 6 our pupils complete Bikeability cycling training as well as attending the Borough Junior Citizen training. In Year 3 our children complete a Safe Walking programme and in Key Stage 1 the children receive scooter training.
All pupils, parents, carers, staff, volunteers and visitors are asked to travel sustainably by foot, cycle or scooter or by public transport wherever possible. We have excellent bus, train and tube services within easy walking distance of the school. The bus services R68, 190 and 419 stop nearby on the A316. North Sheen station serves South West trains and Kew Gardens station serves London Overground and the District Line.
The roads around the school are narrow and have limited parking, so to avoid congestion, we ask people not to drive if at all possible. If you have to drive, then we ask that you park away from the school on North Road or Marksbury Avenue and walk through North Sheen Rec and Darell Road. Controlled parking applies to all surrounding roads between 10am and midday only.
