At Darell we believe that speaking another language is a door into other cultures and can help children to understand the world better. The current language studied is French, taught to Years 3-6 by a specialist teacher. The children hear, speak, read and write the language using stories, games, songs and conversation, with reference to the requirements of the new National Curriculum.

We are very lucky to have some native French speakers at Darell. Here is Naomi in Year 3 helping her friends in Pelican Class learn some words for familiar objects.
