Headteacher Message

Hello all,

It was really lovely to see so many of you in school this week.  I talk about being a happy school and the recent parent and carers meetings really showcased this.  I spoke to many happy parents and staff, and it was incredibly valuable that you were able to hear how well your children are doing and how you can support them at home.  We celebrate every child from whatever their starting point and have high expectations of what they can achieve. This, combined with our focus on happy children and removing any barriers to learning, means that our children are happy and are learning, and I hope this was the impression that you left with after your meeting.  As ever, do contact me if you have any concerns at all.  

We are looking forward to seeing parents next week for the meetings planned:

• Tuesday 2.45pm - Year 6 SATs Parent Information Meeting

• Friday 2.45pm - Year 2 SATs Parent Information Meeting

These sessions will give you more information about each of the statutory assessments and how you can support your child at home. We look forward to welcoming as many parents as possible to these sessions.

I am very lucky to be able to host three assemblies a week. I really value this time as I am able to speak to all of our children. This is a real privilege and I try to make sure that my assemblies are meaningful and useful to them.  This week we spoke about pupil voice and how we can amplify this across the school.  I showed them some examples of when their voice had been heard and action taken.

I really like it when I am approached in the corridor or visited in my office by children who have ideas about how to improve the school, and they always get the time they deserve.  I find if you listen you often learn.  With that thought I am going to leave you to your weekends.  I sincerely hope that it brightens up, and you can get out and about with your lovely children.
