Headteacher Message
Hello all,
I hope you are all well and enjoying the lovely sunshine. Below is a table showing which class teachers will be taking which year group next year. As you will see there are very few changes. This is to be celebrated. Many schools in the locality have spent the last few weeks frantically trying to recruit for next year. I am really pleased that we have a settled staff team as I believe it helps with community cohesion and also allows us to consolidate and push forward with the improvements we have made to the school. This is evident in terms of curriculum development. At the moment if you look at Geography, for example, across the school the format and presentation of information is of a high quality and consistent. This is so much easier to do with a settled workforce. Also in very simple terms I think our whole workforce is quite magnificent, and I do not want to lose any of them.
There is, however, one departure to share with you. Kitty Winfield is leaving us to explore the world and is going travelling. Kitty has worked here for the past 4 years and has been a positive force for good throughout her time at Darell. She lives our values on a daily basis and will be greatly missed by staff and pupils. We wish her all the best on her travels and look forward to hearing about her adventures.

We are going to let the children know in assembly today, so you can chat about it together this weekend. As this newsletter is being published early can I please urge you to attend our Eco sale at the end of the day. There will be samples of the products on sale and the opportunity to buy washing up liquid, body wash etc. We have had an issue with our newly acquired card reader, but we are happy to record your purchase and collect the money from you when it is up and running. Basically, this means that not having cash will not stop you from purchasing today.
Here is the price list.
Please bare with the Eco-team today. It is likely to be wonderfully chaotic, and they will learn from the process. The learning is all the more powerful because it is rooted in real life experiences and will get them thinking about supply, demand, sustainability and profit.
I would like to congratulate all of our Year 6 Borough Sports team who did really well at the recent Borough Sports event. Their behaviour, effort and execution was superb as you can see below.
Have a lovely weekend and see you smelling fresh next week!
